Barbershop Etiquette: Every Guy's Cheat Sheet
Don't know the unwritten rules of the barbershop? Here's the etiquette cheat sheet — from tipping to talking — every guy should know.

The Golden Rules
Come clean — hair should be freshly washed, not fresh from the gym. Arrive on time, especially if you booked. And if you're running late, call ahead so we can hold your chair.
Silence your phone. The chair is a sacred space.
Communication Is King
Show a photo, explain what you love and hate, and ask questions. Barbers aren't mind readers — the more you communicate, the better the result. If something's off mid-cut, say so.
Don't bring a photo of a hair texture you don't have. We'll work with what's on your head.
Tipping and Thanks
Tipping barbers is standard — 15–20% for a good cut, more for a service you loved. Cash is king, but most shops take card.
And if the cut changed your life, a good review and a referral mean more than any tip.
